November 9th-11th: Chocolate Show in New York!

I wanted to let everyone know that the Chocolate Show in New York is right around the corner (November 9th-11th). Start planning the annual pilgrimage to New York for all that wonderful chocolate.
The show website is: http://www.chocolateshow.com

Valrhona Gran Couva

Today I'm having a Valrhona Gran Couva Recolte 2006 chocolate bar with beans from the Gran Couva Plantation in Trinidad. It is exquisitely mild and a perfect chocolate for the transitioning chocolate eater. By transitioning I mean, a chocolate eater who only eats milk chocolate but would like to try to increase their dark chocolate consumption for the health benefits. This chocolate is on the milkier side, although it is still a dark at 64% cacao. There aren't many more of this Recolte left, so get them while their still some to be had. I acquired these at http://www.gourmetofoldecity.com in Olde City Philadelphia.

Today's Bar: Pralus Indonesie Criollo Cacao 75%

Within a few minutes I knew it was real criollo, as I always get a
tingle in the back of my head whenever its criollo. Funny thing is I
never get it with Forastero. Only mildly with some trinitario
varieties.

I would definitely eat this bar again. It has a strong aftertaste on
the palate. While eating it reminds me of a dry wine with lots of
tannin.
The aftertaste is long and dry.

Chocolate, better than kissing?

Is eating chocolate better than kissing?
It would appear so. I guess it would depend on who you are kissing and
for how long.. :)
